The music of singer and composer Valeria Maurer can be compared to a migratory bird, soaring through myths and poems, encountering many musical worlds, near and far. With lightness and openness to the new – but still with a touch of nostalgia.

Valeria Maurer was born in Kazakhstan, grew up in cold Siberia, she moved to Germany in 2013 to study jazz. The range of her musical interests has always gone beyond a single style. Together with her band – including Konrad Hinsken on piano, Julian Losigkeit on drums and Lukas Hatzis on double bass – Valeria Maurer presents her own compositions, in which jazz, pop and world music elements and lyrics in English and Russian merge into a new dynamic setting. The young band has performed at international festivals such as jazzahead! Clubnight, Heidelberger Frühling, Jazz am Rhein and was awarded an artist prize from the Baden-Württemberg Art Foundation in 2023. Her debut album, Here Is the Silence, was released in September 2024.
